Outdoor exhibition space for Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art

Rosan Bosch Studio is one of the three design- and architectural firms that was invited to the competition of rethinking the foyer of Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art. The proposal suggests ways of activating the outdoor spaces to enable exhibitions outside the historical building. By placing underground sensors and installations for light, sound, water and power around the building, the creation of artistic intervention and dialogue with the passers-by in the public becomes a possibility. Simultaneously, Den Frie becomes more visible.

The characteristic blue doors of the building are opened up, enabling passers-by to get a view through the building. Inside visitors are welcomed by a differentiated foyer with soft furniture for dialogue, books, magazines and a reception.

The winner is Praksis Arkitekter. More info at Kunst.dk (Danish only)
